I own both Crysis games, but I really see no need for this game to come to consoles. Other then pretty graphics it's a pretty standard FPS. Now, an original game in the Crysis series brought over to the Xbox 360 and PS3, that I wouldn't mind too much. The suit powers are kind of neat.
But really, it's just not worth it in my opinion. Graphically, it would loose too much being ported. If you really want achievements, go beg EA to make a patch to turn it into a Games for Windows Li...
What people hate is installing intrusive software on their systems that they are not aware about (and that is how it happened originally). Also, they don't like it when that software interferes with other programs they have already, picks up the wrong programs and stops the game from working, and bricks PCs. Starforce was bad for that one, though I'm sure nobody really knows how many computers died (if any actually did of course). And even causing other programs to stop working (like the fias...
Wouldn't be a bad idea to get this onto Live as a downloadable piece. I like downloads and all, no lines to wade through for hot new releases, and they probably let you download and pre-load your console a day or two before you can play it (like some steam games), but for the 360 we need cheaper, competitively price and higher capacity alternatives to the current hard drive offerings. Either a) price reduce the 120 gig model down to under a hundred dollars (CDN) and introduce a higher density...
Activations are not too bad, hell this is what Steam does. Now, back when I bought Half-Life 2 and it wanted me to activate the game over the internet when I was still on dial up and do so every time I played the game (they fixed that though), that pissed me off. Now, everyone and there dog seems to have broadband internet so it is a mute point to me. If I have to be online to play I don't really care, as long as they aren't tracking information on my computer of course (possible other use of...
Yep, even the venerable Chaos Theory has been cracked. It took pirates over a year and a half after it's release date but it was eventually cracked. It did use Starforce, which has been reported to be one of the worst to crack (when it was released) but also the one to cause the most problems with computers.
82% is a pretty damn high number. It's sad that developers are loosing so much money to these pirates. It's not like movies or music, whose artists at least have other venues...
Wow, looks like EA is really trying to milk gamers with Dead Space there. All those downloads would cost like 30 dollars. I like additional content and all, but that is just too much. Almost as bad as Namco is. Any of those downloads just like 100 kb? Because that means they are just hiding on the disk, which is really terrible for publishers do.
It's good to here that they are banning these people. People who pirate games should be dealt with accordingly.
I just hope they don't start banning people who have done other kinds of mods (none pirating), like adding lights and other fans into the system. I remember hearing about people who did this and ended up banned from live. I've done that to my console (2x 120mm fans, 2x 80 mm fans, water pump and some cold cathodes) and nothing has happened to me yet.
No kidding. But it isn't much of a shock either. Torrent users probably check their favorite torrent sites everyday so I'm sure its almost a none issue, mostly.
Actually, Microsoft has been trying to implement some sort of PC score into their operating system that scores your computer based on what it has in it (based on the weakest component) and you can use that score to check if a game will run well on your PC or not. Really takes the hassle out for people who don't know that a 3.0 Ghz Pentium D is weaker then a 3.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo and all that stuff. I think the score goes from like 1.0 to 5.9 right now, and it will go up as more robust games com...
Not only that, but you can't have videogames shipped to canada from amazon.com, only amazon.ca (have to have them delivered to an address across the border or something, I know there are services in Canada to work around his problem). I think the super saver shipping is probably the best part (used that many a time).
It would be nice to see if the next console and the next generation PCs could integrate more then they do now. Having Microsoft (or Sony for that matter) set an open standard for what their games would require at the hardware and software level so developers could do more cross platform and splitscreen gaming between systems would be great. I'm not saying get rid of the set top console box per say, but making sure that a wealth of the games also came to PC at the same time. Hook up some LAN a...
Seriously, you shouldn't have to go through the hurdles to enable something like that, but the fact that it is possible is great. Hopefully, Valve just enables this off the get go in the retail release. I've really been looking forward to the time when us PC users can get these things that are taken for granted in the console world. So many cross platform games come out onto the PC but lack this splitscreen mode. And with more and more media center PCs and the like being pushed onto the marke...
There's nothing wrong with Perfect Dark, it's just that if Rare and Microsoft wanted to put it out on Live Arcade, Nintendo couldn't stop them. I don't know why it hasn't been done yet, I'm sure if the demand was there it would come out in the not too distant future.
Nintendo may have published the older games but they lost the rights to them when they sold Rare. It's just like a book being published by one publisher for so many years, then changing. Heck, look at iD software's t...
Never really liked the idea of either Hybrid SLI or Hybrid Crossfire. Pay extra money for a motherboard with on-board graphics, and then pair it with a relatively cheap model graphics card to try and do some low end crossfire? Seems pointless, would probably be better to put the 30-40 dollar premium most newer intergrated GPU motherboards have towards a normal motherboard and a better GPU. Crossfire and SLI are both quite driver dependent, and not every game or application likes them. A singl...
You can throw facts around all you want, but at the end of the day both systems produce games that are usually very close to each other graphically if developers know how to play to each systems strong points. There may be some differences, but at the end of the day both systems produce games that look great. Don't be hater, be a gamer and enjoy it on your console of choice. The only real need for complaining here is when it comes down to shoddy problems that make the game less enjoyable, lik...
Nintendo put the kibosh on GoldenEye coming out on the 360 by threatening Activision, so I guess this is Microsoft's turn at stopping these games from reaching Wii users. Makes sense really. It's unfortunate too because I'm sure lots of Wii users would love to play the Banjo and Kazooie games, especially with their (slight) graphical upgrades.
GoldenEye should have came out months ago and everyone would have been happy. Oh well, maybe this game will change Nintendo's mind after s...
Yeah, they are pretty much useless. They suck more juice out of the 360 then it can handle. Those PSUs can only generate so much wattage, too much being drawn by other devices and it can crash the system. However, if you paired a newer 360 with an older PSU made for them that are rated for a higher wattage (the older 360 needed more juice, so the PSUs were designed to deliver more. Newer 360s require less power, so Microsoft downgraded the PSUs that ship with them accordingly) and you might j...
Sony did a real good job figuring out a cooling solution on the PS3 I have to admit. That one big fan inside there is much better then the two little 70 mm ones inside the 360. And, the air gets to where it needs to to cool down the system. With the 360, the GPU heatsink barely gets any airflow. I have a feeling when Microsoft decide to release a slimmed down version of the 360, they will probably go with a similar style of cooling solution, but by then, the newer chips (or chip if it puts it...
No, Microsoft just needs to start putting better quality fans in the 360. You can buy replacement fans for the inside of your 360 that are both quieter and push more air (plus, you can get them with built in LED's for glow if you want). This might have saved Microsoft some money in the long term.
Also, the heat sink on the GPU doesn't get much airflow, which is why they redesigned it. A nice piece of copper with lots of thin fins and a heat pipe like the current redesign uses pro...
I think the real big hurdle to get this game running on the consoles is their RAM limitations. Both consoles have less the 512 megs available for the game to run (yes, each has 512 megs I know, but some is not available to games due to it being used by the OS of the console. I think both are down quite a bit now thought. 360 uses about 20-30 megs and the PS3 a bit more, but it used to be up to like 70-90 megs while games were running, less now though).
You need memory to store al...
